I’ve read so many forums posts trying to figure this one out, can you tell me how to change the drives back from HP Ultrium 5 to the Symantec drivers?
GUI doesn’t respond after Device definition modification. Medium changer not showing up in device manager.
I’ve tried rebooting the tape library as well, it came back fine but still doesn’t show in device manager anymore. I thought I’d give BE a try anyway, and BE discovered the robotic library, and the tape drives attached.

I can’t remember the last time I even saw a server with a floppy drive. Am I right in saying we should use the Windows driver for the two LTO5 drives, but we should disable the medium changer?
I have read one forum post where the changer was hidden from the OS because it was changed to sequential instead of random mode. I really wish HP would keep their DP documentation up to date. I changed it to “Unknown Medium changer” as advised and rebooted the server changerr. Pretty clever, if you ask me.
You can reject cookies by changing your browser settings. Any other suggestions to get the medium changer showing up in Mmsl2024 I’d also recommend downloading HP Library and Tape Tools and running it against the library to rule out hardware issues.

When the server came back online, I checked device manager and Medium Changer devices was listed. The tape library does not appear in the Device Manager because it is not recognised by the OS. Mediumm to the BE console and delete all instances of your tape library and tape drive. For Windowsdisabled the Removable Storage service and add this to the registry: We’re setting up DP 7.
Craig the medium changer isn’t appearing in device manager so I can’t change the drivers for it. Backup Exec used to bring their own drivers with their software, at least in earliers versions.
