I still get the popping of the audio, when none is produced for a few minutes. The disk contains the preinstalled Windows with all drivers and tools from Toshiba. Tks a lot, well, I succesfully installed the MS HD Audio package sp and after that, the original Vista drivers and were ‘successfully’ installed: Mine installed fine, then i found i had the same problem you were saying, i downloaded my realtek hd driver from hp, tried to install it using the program and it wouldnt work, so i went into device manager, found the sound driver and went into properties, and clicked on updated driver and pointed it to where the sw directory was and it did install that way, and walla, now i can plug my headphones in and sound will come through and the screen comes up again now saying it has been plugged in and pulled out.

It seems to happen when my laptop doesn’t have audio going. I now have sound after resuming from sleep or hibernate, but it still pops from time to time. I may be wrong, but I think one or both uses the “Venice” codec and might work. Yeah, that’s the one I’m using.
